Dea, please check, I think I have done those 3

@Curators, I just wanted to consult on best practice. Multiple merges by collaborators of public and private profiles resulted in a messy "hybrid" tree -- blue/pink and grey all over the place, many of them duplicates. As there are profiles here attached to the "Presidents of the Philippines" and "Filipino Policitians" projects (which I created), I really do want to clean up. What is the best approach?

With 288 users in that family group you should leave the cleanup of the private profiles to them, but I would probably use the send message to profile manager on some of the profile and asking them if they would consider making some of the profiles public.

Hej, Bjorn. I did contact some but have not gotten action required. Key profiles in this group are politicians with names of immediate family available from multiple on-line sources. As a co-manager of the profiles, is there any way to undo some merges -- at least the users who want to keep their profiles private?

Can someone who is familiar with the Stearnes line please help me with this yellow triangle issue of multiple parents, one parent of which I think might be a mistake, Goodith. Please let me know what you think?
Thank you in advance.

Does anyone have info on Margaret Abbes? I do not want to merge unless the dates are better defined. In order to merge descendants and others, I am asked to merge this first...

Thanking you all in advance, I am trying to clean things up before I put it down to paper to give to my sons.

@ Jadranka = Thank you. Other than some 'privates', and misc. 'John Smith' files I think the mess is fixed!

Mona, have you contacted Mia and asked her to make her profiles public?

I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post. I have been trying to contact an admin but have not been able to figure out how to do so.

My specific issue is that my brother died last year. On his birthday a message was sent to all our relatives to notify them of his upcoming birthday. I have tried to go in and edit his profile to include the date of his death but I do not have access. I'm not sure what to do and it is upsetting to all our relatives to see his name come up when we know he has passed on.

Can anyone help me resolve this problem?

Thanks.

Mr. DePalma, I'm very sorry for your loss. We recently introduced a feature to handle this situation: on his profile, the "More Actions" menu should have a link labeled "Report" -- when you click on it, one of the reasons you can choose for reporting it to Geni admins, is that this person is now deceased. Since you already have my attention, however, I can just do this for you -- I want to make sure I've got the right profile, however; is it your brother Charles?

Mike,

Yes. My brother Charles passes away on May 16,2010. I appreciate your assistance with matter. In the future would I be able to edit his profile?
I'd like to update the picture on the website.

Thanks again for your help.

I've unclaimed is account and marked him deceased. Yes, you can now edit his profile. Once again my condolences to you and your family.

@Margaret SV, yes, I have. The issue may not be unwillingness; but aversion to the tedious work that comes with making multiple profiles public (one would have to edit each one, right?). Thus the question: is there a way to unlink the merged profiles, as a co-owner or a curator?

Aubin Lambert and Aubin Lambert dit Champagn. Is there anyone who can push through the merges? I have tried to contact the current managers with little success.

Jim - please post link
