Edna Capps Tilley (Roney)

Edna Capps Tilley, of 82, of Dresden, died Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at her residence.

Services were held at 11 a.m. Friday at Bowlin Funeral Home, with Dr. Don McCulley officiating. Burial was in Hopewell Cemetery, Gleason.

Kelley Swearingen, Kenneth Gatewood, Mike Morris, Alan Jackson, Ron Jackson and Wade Mansfield served as pallbearers.

Mrs. Tilley was born in Gleason, daughter of the late Charles Hatler and Lucinda Tilley Roney. She was the widow of Paul Travis Capps and Gilbert Tilley. She was a homemaker and a member of Dresden First Baptist Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Rhonda (Steve) Greer of Petersburg; one son, Roney (Debbie) Capps of Dresden; one stepson, Coy (Patty) Tilley of Gleason; two sisters, Ruth Jackson and Luree Grissom, both of Dresden; one grandchild, Cassi Kaye (Bryan) Walski of Smyrna; three step grandchildren, Johnny (Lynn) Tilley of Soddy Daisy, Joey (Tracie) Tilley of Arlington and Jessica (Stephen) Johns of Martin; and six step great-grandchildren.
