John Lees

Not the same as Sir John Lee of Coton Hall

John Lee (1590-1629/30) was the son of an earlier John Lees (ca.1566-1597), weaver, of Worcester. (The name was more commonly written as Lyes.)

John Lees/Lyes c1566-1597 also had a son Richard,, who has a tendency to get confused with his nephew Richard (son of "John Sr."). See will of Jane Manning nee Hancock.

For John Lee/Lyes (c1565-1597):
No baptismal record (unless he was John, son of Thomas Leye, baptized 23 Nov 1562 Worcester St. Helen)
In which case parents found as Thomas Lee (Leye) and Jane Mason. Jane's father was a William Mason, and she also had a brother William who left bequests to his sister Jane Lee and her children (the list exactly matches the list of siblings in John Lee/Lyes' will of 1597).
