MATHEW PLUMSTED, draper, son of Clement Plumsted, the East Jersey Proprietor. b.  27th of 6th Mo (Sep) 1669.14 d. 11th of 11th mo. (Jan) 1714, Grace church Street, London, England, age 45, of “Dropsy.”15 [Mathew Plumsted also became a Proprietor of East Jersey. Another Clement Plumsted, probably a brother, was mayor of Philadelphia.]

• Clement Plumstead (mentioned) is a name seen on the list of 24 original proprietors of New Jersey & Pennsylvania, 14 Mar 1682. In Ben Franklin's journal, there is a mention on 29 Sept 1737 of Clement Plumerstead, esq., late Mayor, who made a great feast for his citizens (Clement Plumstead was a mayor of Philadelphia).
• A web page claims that Sarah Biddle, b. 23 Oct 1678, m(2) Clement Plumstead on 14 Mar 1703/4 in Mansfield Twp., Burlington Co., NJ, and that this Clement died 17 Jun 1705.
