About Peter Anderson Lofgreen
From the Tombstone (Arizona) Epitaph of Sunday, March 12, 1922:
Pioneer resident is dead at St. David
St. David, Ariz., March 6 - Peter A. Lofgreen, one of the pioneer residents of this section, died here this morning after a few weeks' illness with stomach trouble. He came to this settlement over 40 years ago and has been one of the active citizens of the community ever since his arrival. He was always willing to do more than his share for the advancement of the settlement and to assist others in time of their troubles.
He was born in Sweden in 1858 and was 74 years old at the time of his death. He was the father of 18 children, all of whom were alive at the time of his death with the exception of one. He has 50 grandchildren. He came to the United States in 1864 and first located in Utah, and then moved to Arizona and settled at St. David.
He had one daughter, Mrs. Nellie Peterson, living in Bisbee at the time of his death, who was called to the bedside of her father shortly before he died.
