Rabbi Shneur Zalman Aharon Schneerson, [The RAZA]

The RAZA - Rabbi Shneur Zalman Aaron Schneerson was the first son of Shmuel Schneersohn, the fourth Chabad Rebbe. He was born in Lubavitch, Belarus. After his father's death he refused to take over the Nesiut (Presidency) of the Chabad movement.

Rav Schneur Zalman Aharon:

He was born on Thursday of Parshas Matos, 19 Tam­muz 5618. He was named Schneur Zalman after the Alter Rebbe, and Aharon after his maternal grand­father. At the bris of his sons and grandsons, the Tzemach Tzedek would also give them abbreviated names (Maharil, Maharash, etc.). Him, he named Raza, following the terminology of the Zohar: "This is a hid­den mystery."

His first marriage — to Sterna Sarah, daughter of his uncle the Rebbe R. Yisrael Noach of Niezhin — took place in Lubavitch during the month of Cheshvan 5634. His daughters were Dinah, who passed away as a young child, and Sarah (Wolfsohn). His second wife was Basyah. He passed away 11 MarCheshvan 5669.
