Vaino Raun very kindly emailed me a copy of Vaba Estland edition February 19, 1998. It included on page 9 an death notice which I had placed in the Canadian Estonian newspaper about the death of my mother, Mary Elizabeth Johvikas. I would often see Vaba Estland in our home in Prince Rupert, B.C., Canada since my father subscribed to that publication. In my appeal in the obituary to hear from anyone who knew my mother, I did hear from a woman who knew her in nursing school in Estonia. I am currently new to Geni and have made contact with the family of my dead stepfather Oskar Ehaver, and am trying to find living relatives of my dead grandfather, Hindrek Johvikas. Unfortunately, I do not know Estonian so need to know how best to translate any communication on the Estonian Geni site.
