Marie Thibodeau, II - Pierre Lejeune, Antoine Landry

Have some info that will help this. When you read the names of all the children Pierre Thibodeau & Jeanne Theriot have and out of them they had four daughters whose first name was Marie. The trick now is to figure out which one was married to Antoine Landry and which one to Pierre Lejeune.

vi. PIERRE THIBODEAU L'AINEE, b. Abt. 1670, Port Royal, Acadia, Canada; d. November 22, 1723, Pisquit, Acadia, Canada.

xvi. CHARLES THIBODEAU, b. 1689, Port Royal, Acadia, Canada; d. August 26, 1756, Port LaJolie, Ille Jean, Prince Edward Island.

We know that Marie "La Cadette" was married to Pierre Lejeune but which one of the other three Marie(s) was married to Antoine?

If my memory serves me right I believe I saw somewhere that Marie "l'aine" was married to Antoine.

So the children from both marriages are not half siblings but rather 1st cousins.

Mystery solved.

Thanks Roxanne - I've disconnected Pierre Lejeune from the older Marie " l'Aîné" and made a MP of the younger Marie "la Cadette" so they don't get merged. Make sure this all looks correct. :)

I'd like to clear up some possible confusion on the parents & siblings of Pierre Thibodeau. I've seen sources that list the mother as Unknown Profile and other that list Marie Dolbeau.

LarryVoyer, which I tend to think of as reliable, lists his mother as Marie Dolbeau. http://larryvoyer.com/genealogy/getperson.php?personID=I152476&...

We also have two siblings listed:
* Mathurin Thibodeau, who married Catherine Thibodeau (Avrard).
* Mathurin Thibodeau dit Lalime. who married Marie Roy.

We also just split (unmerged) and renamed a profile Pierre Tavaude from Pierre Thibodeau, who was married to Marie Goubeilla.

Now, our profile for Pierre Thibodeau, has the middle name field of "dit l'Ainé" and also note that Mathurin Thibodeau dit Lalime ends in " dit Lalime", which is very likely a misspelling of "dit l'Ainé".

So here is what I think we're dealing with.. and it's just what Roxanne described above and what we saw with Pierre's children, Marie, Anne-Marie, and Pierre. They all had a "Elder" (l'Ainé) and a "Younger" (La Cadette). I think we have two Pierre half brothers and two Mathurin half brothers, all fathered by Mathurin Thibodeau.
