Sorry for writing in Norwegian.
Johan Hans Hanson Falck (born 1461 in Sweden) is my 12th great grandfather (according to Geni.com).
I am just wondering if there are any sources that say that his father was Hans von Falkenstein, von Farnsburg Schweiz (born between 1408 -1456 in Schwitzerland).
There is a link at the formers profile, but it doesnt work. At the latters profile there is a long text that suggest that the last male decendant of the Falkensteins died in the 16th century...........
The link between Johan Hans Hanson Falck and Hans von Falkenstein looks a bit dubious without sources.
Again. In this article from the National Archive of Sweden (Riksarkivet) this Falck family is discussed:
Falck, släkt, http://sok.riksarkivet.se/sbl/artikel/15009, Svenskt biografiskt lexikon (art av Bengt Hildebrand.), hämtad 2014-10-14.
Falck, släkt, urn:sbl:15009, Svenskt biografiskt lexikon (art av Bengt Hildebrand.), hämtad 2014-10-14.
Most of the discussion revolves around Johan Falck's son: Bishop Erik Falck (@Biskop Erik Johannis Falck (Falckius)). There is no mention of any lineage to the Falkensteins. There is no even a mention of @Johan Hans Hanson Falck being the father of Erik F., and nor is even his name(!). The Falck name seems to come from the brother of Erik F's mother, not from this Johan Hans Hanson Falck or his supposed father @Hans von Falkenstein, von Farnsburg Schweiz.
I might be wrong, but the link between Bishop Erik Falck, Johan Falck, and Hans von Falkenstein seems dubious to me.
Hej
I share you opinion. No evidence of relationship between Falck and Falkenstein.
"I might be wrong, but the link between Bishop Erik Falck, Johan Falck, and Hans von Falkenstein seems dubious to me."
I think still that Ericus Johannis Falcks father is still Johan Eriksson Falck. Somebody should change that back now.
