James Hovey born c1699 could not have been the son of Daniel Hovey, Jr..
Daniel's first wife died while giving birth to their first child about a year after their marriage. He married his second wife, Esther Treadwell Hovey (1641 - 1730), six months later, but she could not have been the mother of James as she would have been 58 years old at the time of his birth.
Esther outlived Daniel, leaving no room for a third marriage.
Finally, Daniel died four years prior to the birth of James (about 1699), making this one of the most dysfunctional parent-child relationships in history. ;-)
I would appreciate a curator's assistance with the disconnect, as I cannot access the Relationship tab for James. TIA!
