Merging always opens up new avenues of family, often adding limbs where none were before. In this case I would merge the two. If you don't like the merger you can always remove or separate them later.

Hi Curators, I've been trying to get help with splitting an incorrectly merged tree.
This profile of Aliza Nechama Freedman (and the family connected to her) delted and overwrote the Aliza Freedman (Davis) of our tree: Private User.
I had to add the correct profile for Aliza Freedman again, but was unable to correct the problem with her parents: Private. But she is now listed as the "wife" of the incorrect Aliza.
The parents of Aliza Freedman (Davis) were deleted (not by me). They should be, father Bertram Davis and mother Rosie (Rhoda) Davis .
I would be most grateful for your assistance.

the ones she should KEEP are George Palmer and Mary Palmer. The ones she should LOSE are James Thomas Palmer and Mary Ann Palmer. Can she get detached from those last two?

This error message itself is wrong, because Demetrius is well connected to the big tree

Background: Jesse Benton, the brother of Thomas Hart Benton (the guy who shot Andrew Jackson before one became a senator and the other became a President) has been conflated with a different Jesse Benton.

this Jesse Benton -- Jesse Benton, II, of NC & TN -- is properly married to Mary "Polly" Childress. BUT they had no children. They stayed in Tennesee and are buried there. So his son Benjamin Franklin "Doc" Benton needs to get disconnected. Evidence -- Tennessee histories, marriage records.

THIS Jesse Benton -- Jesse Benton, of NC & AL is properly married to Barnissa Benson, and is the father of Franklin "Doc" Benton -- Jesse and Barnissa stayed in Alabama and are buried there. The Phoebe to whom he is married wasn't married to him.

She was married to a third Jesse Benton, born in 1864 in Kentucky. So can she be detached from the Jesse Benton she's married to? We can give her another one. Evidence -- marriage records, death records.

I totally get how these three men got conflated. And now the conflations are showing up in family trees across the web. So the trees aren't useful in this case.

had three wives, and several children; I've got things mostly sorted at this point, BUT two children need to get disconnected from Nancy Due as their mother --

they are two of the children of John Blair's first marriage, to Elizabeth Fowler.

Oscar McDaniel Blair needs to be disconnected, and then merged with Oscar McDaniel Blair

William Nathaniel Blair needs to be disconnected and then merged with William Nathaniel Blair

You can see by their birthdates that there is a problem; they are born long before John Blair's marriage to his third wife.
