the tree of Vsevolod Yaroslavich, Grand Prince of Kiev now looks very truncated because there are some pending merges for his father (Yaroslav the Wise) and his grandfather.
Are there are also some duplicates for earlier ancestors
Could someone please unhook Katherine Louise MacTavish from Paul Carpenter
I accidentally attached them. Paul was married to a different Katherine Griffith.
Thanks
Unknown Profile is married to Hendrick de De Boogh but they are actually duplicates. I can't merge them or delete them, in fact i'm not even sure they aren't duplicates for their "son".
Actually i think that merging all three profiles would probably be the best course, the son is Captain Hendrick "Theodoric" Hendrick de de Boogh

Alex I removed the married relationship of Hendrick de De Boogh
We need to collaborate with Private User to merge his son's profiles http://www.geni.com/merge/compare/6000000006349464626?from_flash=1&...
Alex, collaboration is the best way to connect an isolated tree because it allows you to start merging anywhere in the public profiles, i.e. selecting the best starting point, and also correct errors or add details before merging.
It also allows you in the collaboration request telling that you as the experienced user can take care of all the merges that is needed.
In any case it is a good idea to send a personal message and explain your request and for example link to a merge he/she can approve.
Last week Geni sent out this mail to managers of unconnected trees where someone have approved a match, and hopefully many of those users will accept to join the "big tree".

Thanks for answering Alex Moes
Getting ready to travel south for the winter so I had to go to Southern Ontario and then returned north, to go back down again next week..had to dodge the weather. We had a wonderful November so far, snowed everyday except for about 4 days.
The problem with that suggestion is that putting their credit card details into the subscription page does not qualify people to be a Curator.
Having said that it's possible to do a lot to help without having to be a curator. Any idiot can merge duplicate profiles or edit About sections or add sources or do research and contribute to discussions ... i do and i'm not even a Pro.
She's aware of her behavior, because I told her before.
Apparently she didn't heed my advice as she didn't change her behavior.
I already merged 100s of the duplicates she added. It's a waste of her and everyone else's time. And not only that, information was more than once lost in the merging process because she has a habit of never adding an event place and only adding circa years rather than exact dates.
It has to stop.
Irene Elisabeth Visserman, with regards to finding precise birth/marriage/death data (instead of 'circa'), you can verify those on WieWasWie. Take the example of your great-grandfather Eeltje Visserman. Here is his entry on WieWasWie... https://www.wiewaswie.nl/personen-zoeken/zoeken/document/a2apersoni....
If you don't have experience with WieWasWie, you'll find that you can click on the hyperlinked names, which can take you very quickly to the precise data for other close family.
Obviously, this is also true for the profiles mentioned by RVK. Merging duplicate profiles take a lot of work. But, merging duplicate profiles where one has exact data and the other had approximate data is even worse because one has to solve the data conflicts.
I hope this helps?
In the relationships of this profile
http://www.geni.com/profile/edit_relationships/6000000024874835027
there is a "Spouse: Unknown" that I cannot destroy.
I am not sure if this is something a curator can help with or if is it a database corruption, but your help and guidance would be appreciated.
Thanks,
mario
Would someone please tell Private User
to stop attempting to contact me to dish out abuse. The reason I blocked rvk was so that he couldn't send abusive messages.
I am doing nothing other that working on my family tree, he could be more justified in having something to say if his family tree was without errors which it is far from.
