I have been a bit consumed with Cécile Murat profile, my 8th great grandmother. For those of you that my have her in your tree, I hope you can agree with me and be logical about her ancestors. I have tried to uncover further information about her alleged parents to no avail. My last steps were to speak with Mr. Gary Boyd Roberts, a specialist in presidential ancestry and Royal descents at the New England Historical and Genealogical Society in Boston. After about 2 hours of back and forth, we have decided that she probably is related to the Murat family, but not in the capacity that she claims. There is absolutely nothing to corroborate her claims of being the niece of Joachim Murat, 1st King of Naples. That being said, I believe that any ancestors beyond her parents should be remove until more information becomes available. Pierre and Francoise Murat should remain as her parents for she clearly remembers them as such.
I believe this is the correct thing to do because I'm constantly reminded that there is no proof of the claim.
Thanks all
If you look at the tree of http://www.geni.com/family-tree/index/6000000003005455005
You will notice he has two sons by the name of Pierre Murat
I agree I will disconnect Cecile's parents from that tree
Thank you Angus. I have done about 4 years of extensive research and have not been able to find any other proof beyond Pierre and Francoise to be ancestors. Even in any of the archives of Boston, there are no records of any Murat family except for a murat that was a glove maker.
Best regards and thanks again.
Curators, I would be ever so grateful if someone could help resolve the merges for Lars Swenson and descendants!

If not, or it does not speak to you, ask further.
Hi,
Can someone please complete the merge of this Emanuel Schwartz (Menachem Mendel Schwartz) with this Emanuel Schwartz (Menachem Mendel Schwartz)? His wife also needs to be merged.
Thanks!
Hello! How can I remove a tree that I have foolishly connected to my tree - and more precisely an ex-boyfriend to my own profile? At the moment, all I can do is view the relationships in the tree view both under my and his tab however when I tick the box to remove the relationship and seeing the "Warning: Removing these connections will split the tree.", the Remove button does not become active.
Thank you for any help!
To delete a profile, it has to be (1) unclaimed (2) tree leaf (no other profiles connected through it to the tree).
There is a known bug - sometimes the profile has a hidden partner that hangs on it, so the "x" does not show. You have to edit the profile first, enter into the "Relationships" tab and "Remove" the false partner. Then you can delete.
Thank you Angus for helping me sort this issue out.
I have a similar problem removing a person from my tree whose profile is just a leaf, again I can see the page where I could remove the relationships however the Remove button does not activate when I tick the box.
The profile in question is Mihkel Mulk. I have added an explanation in Estonian ages ago to his profile so that relatives know this person does not exist or if he does, he is not part of this family tree, as has been proven by genelogical research. The other manager on the profile who added this person unfortunately died in 2013.
