@Angus, they should be partners, re Eliza Watson. & James Walker, there are doubles of many of the profiles . some one stuck them together and left them like that, now it needs cleaning up, its just a huge mess now :)

Private User

I have added the correct parents for Eliza Watson

I am not seein a mess like you are suggesting. please show me.

Angus Wood-Salomon --

thank you, yes, that was it.

It's as good as it will get for a while; things are cleaned up and attached when proper and right.

yay!

Jackson Peter Jones where is the problem do you think? The quints (?) look OK. Tree top os here Eric Jones

Recently a Curator merged several profiles, including M1---- G----, 2nd wife of W---- G---- (a second cousin once removed of mine) – and then, the same day, he added two profiles, B---- and D---- as the children of M1---- and W----.
This despite the fact that, as was clearly stated in the About Section, W---- G---- had Death Notices in the NY Times listing A----, M2----, and E---- as his children and M1---- G---- had Death Notices in the NY Times listing E---- as her daughter and A---- and M2---- as her stepchildren. These are the only three children listed for either W---- or M1----. I sent this Curator an e-mail pointing this out to him and asking him to PLEASE provide documentation and/or a statement of his personal knowledge that B---- and D--- actually were the Children of M1---- and W---- G-----. It has been over 24-hours, I see in his Activity he has done many merges since then, spread over at least 11 hours since my message to him, but absolutely no response to my query.

I put this in “Curators, please assist” because I am hoping Curators can give me better insight as to whether his behavior is improper (and if so, how should I address it) or it is totally natural for a Curator to be busy and not respond and I should just delete those profiles which appear to be bogus, or how should I be proceeding?

Private User,

Done and merged.

Private User

- I can only speak for myself. I'm online a lot but I do try to "order" my work flow so may not respond instantly to mails.

- I don't delete other people's profiles, it's what we have "disconnect" for.

- if a profile is improperly merged & you don't get a response in a day or so, feel free to send a PM to me or another curator so we can "undo merge." as you probably know, there may be some cleanup issues after, but they can be manually solved.

Please merge Private

Another Schroedinger's Cat situation ...

See http://www.geni.com/merge/compare/6000000002912022815?return=merge_...

I cannot complete the merge between these two versions of Dora Bing because one of the two 'mergees' is marked as still living, even though she died in 2009.

Can a curator please assist?

Thanks!

The Curator responded and removed the two folks (c 3:58 am this AM, my time). However, raises another issue about what I assume was Smart Copy (or is there another Program he might mean??). He stated:

The two profiles in question were automatically imported when I confirmed a source; these people were listed as sharing a residence with M1---- on her XXXX, NJ home, but I'm not quite sure why the program I use chose to link them as children of M1----

If a Program causes even a Curator to be creating and adding Profiles he has no info on and that are probably bogus, this is not good.

Thanks for fixing Dora Bing! All one record now.

Catherine Anna Manfredi Yronwode, Merge is fixed for Dora and all associated other merges (about 20 additional, I think). Let me know if you see any other issues. Will look at some of the data conflicts now.

Thank you, Jeff. Good work, and much appreciated.

Arrgh, i merged this profile Vera Jane Kean

and now it is ALL wrong, her parents are wrong , and i can not undp it!, please help :) i need the merge undone ,sometimes u r better off to get a curator to do it .

Another profile seems to have a slight problem, a tweak from a curator may help

Frederick Edward Kean

thanking you :)

Could some one please move this profile or delete it, it shouldnt be there, and is disrupting my neat profiles stream,

Byron Churchill

Private User, Vera was unattached from the wrong parents.

thank you Jim

Private User, I don't see anything wrong with Frederick. If it is the way that his profile is to the left of his children, that is because his first wife was the mother of all his children. If you click on his first wife, Jemima Louisa Kean, he will be centered with her. If it is some other detail, please let me know. Jim

Private User, I unmerged Byron, see if that solved your problem. Jim

@lois the problem gargabe in gargabe out isn't just on geni it's every where.. If some one smart copied from another tree with out bothering to fact check first that's what it looks like to me for some reason i can't tag you from my ipad

Guy de Laval, sire de Laval IV
there is a strange tree conflict here: he has a father and a mother but I can't get them to be his joint parents

Ard van Bergen
I have removed the mother Béatrix de Dreux from Guy de Laval, sire de Laval IV and left the father Guy de Laval, sire de Laval IV

Beatrix Dame De Hede was born 1295 died 9, 1384 so she would not be mother of Guy De Laval born 1130 or wife of his father Guy De Laval who died 1146.

thanks, Carole (Erickson) Pomeroy,Vol. Curator
sorry I overlooked that the chronology was impossible

I also think my merge of Guy II, III. seigneur de Laval was perhaps a bit premature because I now see it resulted in (poss dau of Roger II) Berthe de Toeni being married to her own grandson

Help! Do to merges, I, myself, show up three times on my own tree! As well as cousins and aunts/uncles. I suspect the problem comes from whoever merged with me, has a slightly different spelling of the last name. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Kathleen SAN FANANDRE, I only see your original profile and did not see any copies. I assume that you know that the 3 in the blue circle is indicating there are 3 records from other sources that might be you but they are not copies of you on Geni.
If you can cut and paste the address of any duplicates and post it in this discussion, it would help one of us curators assist you with your tree issues.

Could someone please complete the following merge:

http://www.geni.com/merge/compare/6000000013395300200?fsession_id=1...

Thanks!
