About an hour after Rafi Kornfeld (c) undid a merge on Pierre Néel II 's profile it was merged again. I've now asked one of the profile managers, Private to take a look at the profiles. It would be great if there's a way to stop merges from happening until a problem is solved.

Please remove my email address from Abel Jacobus Johannes Jacobs so I can add the correct one.

Private User, as long as the invitation is not accepted, which seem to be the case her, you should be able to remove it yourself under edit profile on him. Secondly you can cancel your pending request in https://www.geni.com/requests/sent

This is a good example where we can use a Master Profile, it is not the purpose that Master Profiles were created but it can be used as a temporary measure. In other words if after Pierre Néel, II was unmerged and it was then made a Master Profile the next merge would have had to be approved,

I know I am going to get some flack for doing things this way but it stops what just occurred

Angus - you're talking about a "locked up" MP profile that can only be merged by another curator. So of course you'd need a note on / in the profile explaining why it was temporarily locked, and a way to get it unlocked so Charmaine can continue to work with it.

Thanks Erica, I neglected to mention making it a Master Profile and 'Locking' it up.

Hi, Can someone please help me? My ancestor Emma Flarty has parents Charles Bromfield and Jane Bromfield...that was added to my tree fine.

I'm not sure how it happened, now I have Charles as having a sister Jane Bromfield (total duplicate of Emma's mother - says x2) and Jane has a brother of Charles Bromfield (Total duplicate of Emma's father - says x2). I don't know what I have done wrong, but wen I try to delete them, it says that I can't?

Can someone please help? I haven't yet gotten to Charles and Jane's siblings so I know the information in my tree is wrong.

Private User, I cannot see the problem with this. Charles Bromfield has no siblings and there don't appear to be any duplicates of Emma's mother Jane.

Can somebody please explain this to me. I've seen it in 2 profiles today and don't understand how and why it's done. These people have two names (surnames). Just under the name it says Afrikaans name, it just doesn't make sense to me.

Those names are not the same so both are shown

Both their names are Afrikaans, that's why I say it doesn't make sense to me. Johannes Jacobus Coetzer 's Afrikaans name shows as Johannes Jacobus Nel and Casper Jeremias Labuschagne shows as Casper Jeremias Nel. I've now seen a 3rd one also with the Afrikaans surname Nel.

Charmaine -- One possible piece - maybe you have already seen - if click "Edit Profile" - and look at the upper part of the Basics Page -- after "Enter Names in" there are TWO choices -- a box saying English, and one saying Afrikaans - no idea why the info is entered as it is, BUT can tell the reason you are seeing the two names is of how they are entered here [ie which is entered when "English" is clicked, which when "Afrikaans".

I have a problem with profile Tomica Zrnčić . There she has a husband Pavao Zrnčić and a wife Lucija Jukić that are not her partners. She has another hunband Nikola Zrnčić who shall be there. So, I can´t delete the relation between fake husband and wife. I´ve made two profiles for Pavao Zrnčić and Lucija Jukić so I can merge them later: Pavao Zrnčić and Lucija Jukić . Thank you.

Pavao Zrnčić has been disconnected from Tomica Zrnčić. You can now complete the merges.
