Does anyone know her parents? I have detached her from a prominent New Haven, CT family (see her About). Also, there are other issues with the connections in this tree that I am looking into.

Here is a useful link about Lewis, Edelen, and Blizzard families: http://genforum.genealogy.com/lewis/messages/20927.html

Private User and others who work in Virginia.

Frances Miles is my Paternal 10th great grandmother. only info B. 1617 Flintshire, Wales D. 1663 Lancaster, Virgina Colony. Have seen references to Richard Miles B. 1598 and Mary Katherine Elithorpe as parents but they don't match up. They were born in England and lived in Conn.

Thanks Ronald E. Head! That's more or less the conclusion I came to. There was very little mixing between families of the two regions -- I can remember only one or two instances where part of a family was in VA and part in MA or CT. This is one where they basically looked for Miles parents and chose some, regardless of how improbably it was.

I'll add the additional information to her. Do you want to be a co-manager of her and her husband?

Thank you, Hatte Rubenstein Blejer for tagging me in this discussion. I was out of town for the weekend and I'm just catching up on messages and email. Ronald, thanks for your additional comments on her parentage. I'll go ahead and note that on her overview as well.

I don't know anything about the Miles family, however, since she died in Virginia, if you want to add me as an additional manager, she will stay on my radar.

I will agree with Hatte that intermarriage between New England and Virginia families was rare. I have found members of the same families living in both areas, but not due to marriage. Usually, what I have found, is that one or more members of a family became Puritians (or similar sects) and emigrated to New England while their siblings emigrated to more southern and less Puritanical colonies.

Private User - why don't you take over curating from me? I can't add you as manager, since I am not a manager of the profile.

That way, she would stay on your radar.

I worked on some other families in this area over the weekend. I believe that I started a separate thread on them. (Blizzard, Lewis, and Edelen)

See this discussion about the wives of the son of Frances Lewis, namely Thomas Griffin Lewis, Sr. {Fictional}.

This family needs some attention I believe. I did do some merging and am now looking for where the erroneous wife belongs (I detached her already).

Okay, I'll take over curating. I'm not sure how soon I can dig into this family. The Bollings got messed up again. Gee! If they can't be related to Robert E Lee then they have to be related to the Bollings, Rolfes and Pocahontas!

Okay, I have taken on Frances and I have added not-know parents for her, with notes on who the parents are not and why.

Excellent and that gives you the Lewis family too :)
