Sam Jaffe has played many roles in films and is a great actor. My connection with him is through my Uncle Victor McLaglen, who together with Cary Grant, Douglas Fairbanks and Joan Fontaine, were in the adventure film set in India during the Raj and the British Empire, in "Gunga Din", based on the story from a collection of stories, set in India, by the famous writer, Rudyard Kipling. Sam played the humble water carrier, who wants earnestly to become a soldier, and he plays an important part in a battle saving many lives because he had learnt to play the bugle and can sound the "Attack" signal.
