Nancy Davis Reagan - Pocahontas

The National First Ladies Library site says that Nancy Davis Reagan, 37th First Lady of the United States is a descendent of Pocahontas:

Does anyone have any other info on this claim? She doesn't seem to show as having a blood relationship to her according to the tree here.

Great article John, this is very interesting and shows just how far our nation has come in the past 100 years. This is a very interesting project idea.

Ok, If I am reading this right, Nancy Reagan is NOT a direct descendant of Pocahontas but rather a direct descendant of John Rolfe. I am a direct descendant of Pocahontas and John Rolfe's only child so Nancy Reagan would still actually be related to me through our gr gr gr gr gr gr gr grandfather John.... Is that correct?

No, Nancy Reagan isn't directly related but rather related by marriage.
They are trying to say that the grandson of John Rolfe married a woman who's Step-Father has a direct blood relation to Nancy Reagan.
That is speculative though because there isn't positive proof of Katherine's surname or her parents. So they are guessing that she is the daughter of Joane Warham and Rev. John Warham
