Since I am obliged to show scepticism about a lot of fake early Massachusetts descents from English gentry, here's a genuine one of four Mayflower immigrants (shipped off, at absurdly early ages, in the Mayflower because the father caught his first wife cheating on him; nasty man). Three of them died in the first winter. I hope the fourth has left some descendants.

Cases like that where children get punished for adult actions, just sicken me. It still happens today.

This story is in fact a genealogy "win" from 1959, where papers detailing the lengths that access to power were used to save face, and the More children identified. The Pilgrims made the deal to bring the children with them, I hope at least they were decently compensated for their care, beause they had to watch 3 of the children sicken and die. Their mother never knew what became of the children repeatedly kidnapped from her.

The 4th child did prosper. I don't think he resettled in England and did not get any of his inheritance.
