Private User has messaged me: Hi Sharon,
I see that you curate the MP for Pierre de Villiers

Which claims a very fanciful ancestry for his newly found mother: Isabelle de Villiers.

Unfortunately it doesn't appear to hold water: Isabelle's reported marriage date is 10 April 1611, but her claimed father Paul de la Rochette, Lord of Bobigneux and Bonneville was only born 30 July 1610.
(and it seems he was married to Jeanne de Parchas, not Catherine Coppier de la Murette, Lady of Perrost).

I've contacted Isabelle's profile managers to ask for evidence/citations...but no replies.
Please could you disconnect her from the present "wishful-thinking" parents. The de la Rochette family looks quite interesting....... but if she belongs to it, she must fit in to some other branch.
Many thanks, Ian

Can we do a quick brainstorm with everyone who has info on these profiles, so we can set the line straight?

on Paul and Jean de La Rochette's profiles. Presumably a trustworthy source?

And it's [Jeanne Rochet Catherine Murette] -(not Catherine Coppier de la Murette) who seems to be an incorrect wife for Paul de la Rochette.

Paul is recorded as having married "Jeanne de Parchas, fille de Marcellin" in 1645 and had 5 children with her. Even if Catherine Murette is a second marriage, the dates still don't work for Isabelle to have been his daughter.

The dates would look better for Isabelle to have been Paul's sister, ie a daughter of Jean de la Rochette & Catherine Coppier.....but she's not listed among their 10 children.

Thanks Ian, that's very helpful

We actually only know 2 things about Isabelle from her profile:

1. She married Pierre de Villiers "in the big Temple at La Rochelle on 10th April 1611".
2. Her birth-surname from this record is reported as "Rochet"

Were her parents named in this marriage record?
Where does the statement/idea that she was"of an old noble family of St. Jean d’Angely" come from? Monsieur de la Fosse, who found the record?...or MG Müller?
Is it anything more than a guess?

It doesn't seem like enough to connect her to any tree yet.

Absent any disagreement, I have cut this line until we get Sources to validate the parents.
