Trudell would go on to ask Young if he was actually related to hip hop recording artist Kendrick Lamar:
“That’s my, I want to say my Dad’s sister son, or something like that.”
According to Young, his father and Lamar’s mother are brother and sister. Young had stated before that he knew Lamar was his cousin, but didn’t really get to grow up with him. Regardless, it is quite impressive for a family to have one relative playing for the Lakers and the other be a platinum recording artists.
