My main tree is over at Ancestry.com. I've recently had my DNA tested through Ancestry DNA and have been placed in a few DNA Circles. For those of you who are unfamiliar, these Circles are Beta. What they are doing with these is grouping two or more people who share DNA and a same person in their trees. To form a Circle there must be at least three people who share DNA, either to two others in the circle or to at least one other in said Circle. So, while I may match two, I don't necessarily match all three or four, but that the third or fourth party must match another in said Circle.
I have a Circle for Anna Friend. There are four of us in this Circle, and I match all of them which makes me a probable descendant of Anna Friend. In looking at the Circle, they give a biography of the ancestor and an overview. I found something remarkable in the biography. Not only do they have her the mother of 13 children by John Sevier, her husband. But, they also suggest she had three other children not by by him. This is faulty on its face.
The other rather stunning thing was the information given purports that Anna Friend was buried in Kingston, Massachusetts! This is crazy-insane and may well be another egregious mistake, or at best a Red Herring. I am in the process of contacting others over at Ancestry.com who have Anna Friend in their tree, too, to see if they have ever heard of her burial site. This could be a key to my Brick Wall, which is the origins of the Friend family, in general.
Has anyone else heard of this before? Please give your thoughts and/or facts. Thank you.
