Also my 27th Great Grandfather - but father William shows up for me as my 28th Great Grandfather. Definitely an anomaly.

Richard Fitzwilliam is my 26th ggf. His son Richard II is my 25th ggf. His brother William should be a great uncle. Somebody got the Williams mixed up.

It is because you are related by 2 or more different ways and Geni is two stupid to figure it out.

It's just what is in the cache for that link. You can recalculate it every 2 weeks. It sorts itself out. No big deal.

I found that directly tracing the connections changes how geni tells you the relationship.

I print it out hard copy to compare so I can remember the more direct connection.

He is my 29th if geni is right, thru Agnes St. Clare and Sir Thomas Iden.

Andrea, That's sort of what I do.I just take screenshots of the different links when Geni changes the pathway. I've found that for profiles that are WAY, WAY, down the line I usually have multiple ways of connecting with the person.
