Who was Jean de Saint Étienne Rousseau de Souvigny, and why was she also called "de la Tour" in French? How come her child was fostered by another couple?

Sharon..Jean de Saint Etienne de Souvigny is a man's name..If it was a woman she would be called Jeanne.

From what I have been able to discover there was a Pierre Rousseau de Souvigny who was born in Blois in 1671.He married Jeanne Saint Etienne de la Tour born 1688..They married in 1716, in Louisbourg , Nouvelle- Ecosse, Canada..I think it is unlikely that there is any connection with Francois Rétif.
