Mary Smith of Hadley, born 1689, remained a single woman, into 1743, per land deeds and is a separate person from her half-sister Mercy Smith b. 1706, who married John Kinney/Keeney.

1 October 1728, Mary Smith of Hadley, received of her brother Timothy Smith of Hartford, money for land she is selling of her own free will. That same day she grants land to brother Benoni Smith of Hartford.

29 March 1743, Marah Smith, single woman, of Hadley sells land to Timothy Smith, her brother, of Hartford, and his heirs, a small piece of land called Hocconum that was my late mother's thirds so-called.

Sister Mehitabel Smith, now wife of Ebenezer Taylor sells her interest in her property at Hocconum to brother Timothy Smith and heirs, of Hartford, in 1742 (day and month not clear in the deed). Received by Court in January 1743/4.
