John Kirby - Kirby ancestors, ship Hopewell

I am working on trying to connect my paternal line to family lore regarding 3 brothers who were on the Hopewell. There are several generations missing between what I have and the Kirby colonials. With repeating names and gaps in information, it is difficult.

On Ancestry, my profile seems to indicate a William, but this is not certain. Here is the earliest ancestry I have, older to newer:

Uncertain:
James Middley Kirby 1740-1816 m. Elizabeth Longino Wright 1747-1816

James A.(don't know what the A. stands for) Kirby 1760-1842 North Carolina ?, m. Martha Herndon 1767-1828

Certain:
James Kirby 1789-1845, m. Sarah Sally Ellington 1787-1870 died Benton County, AR. Couple married about 1808 in TN, he died in TN.

Albert Gallatin Kirby 1826-1903, m. Lucinda Kirby 1830-1864. They were first cousins, Lucinda's mother was Dorthy Woodward 1802-1880, but there is some question who is Lucinda's father. Family notes state her father was Harvey Kirby, brother to James Kirby, father of Albert Galatin. However, Ancestry lists a Hardy Kirby, not Harvey.

Any help in where/how to continue research is greatly appreciated. Thank you

This is the 2nd message I have received this week from Geni. Do not know why I am listed as a manager of so many people on my tree since my nephew entered most of the information. Anyways, I believe this link shows how you and I are related. Don't know if any of this info is helpful to you or not. God Bless, Tim Laine Nice "meeting" you cuz!!
