According to this site Edmund father was Edward Anderson with no mention of his mother. There seems to be 2 Anderson lines - both originated in Scotland, then one branch went to England to Northumberland and then Lincolnshire where Edmund was born. The information in this geni page seems correct except that he is listed as being the son of William. Can someone else please research this also and see if they agree that the lines have been mixed up......Thanks.

I'm of no use on this line as I have been trying to convince the cousin who connected our line to these Andersons that since our connection is more speculative than proven, we shouldn't even be connected to them. I've asked a to be added to the profile of our David Anderson to see if it can be proven or disconnected if unable to prove and had no response on that. Meanwhile, I can't trust that the Geni connection from my Anderson line to these folks is even valid.

Hi Debbie. Yes, there is lots of confusion and mixed up trees on this line and I've been working it for quite awhile trying to sort it out. Historical records state that Edmund's father is Edward and then back to Henry which means that pretty much all of the trees on Ancestry, My Heritage and Geni are all incorrect. Keeping in mind that all these site are all entered by people, with good intentions, but means they are not always accurate. There are so many Edmund Anderson also which makes it quite confusing. I've found quite a good reliable site which is:https://landedfamilies.blogspot.com/2014/06/127-anderson-of-eyewort... as well as the one I put up for discussion. They are very clear on who Edmund's father was and they both agree that he is Edward. The link above includes his Grandfather as Henry. Unfortunately, using this information I can't now connect back further either so this branch will have to site there until (and if) I can find more information (which I'm doubtful about finding). It was good to get your message as I was hesitant to add it due to the number of people who had just taken other trees as ok. None of the other trees that I checked have added resources to back up the line so I'm feeling reasonably confident that we might be on the right path now, even though it has a brick wall!!! Good to hear from you. Cheers Kathy Mead

I just realized the error is simply that Edmund's father is listed as Roger Edward Anderson and that all that needed to be done was remove the Roger, which I've done. I'm also putting a source in Edward's About Section. Edward's wife, Edmund's mother is correct as she is. There is conflict on Edward's parentage, showing nothing documented and two fathers. So I will attempt to sort that out and document any changes.

Hi Debbie. I wish it were that easy.......Henry and Anne Orde didn't have a son named Edmund, according to the docs I can find. Henry and Anne are different line I think. Think the most accurate, according to the majority of docs is:
Roger born about 1390 of Wrawby, England
Unknown Anderson
Unknown Anderson
Henry Anderson born about 1475 of Wrawby, England
Edward Anderson born about 1505 Flixborough, Lincolnshire, England
Edmund Anderson born 1530 Flixborough, Lincolnshire, England (Lord Provost); Thomas (has issue) and Richard.(no issue)

Cheers
Kathy
