Many online pages have Robert II as Robert III's father. Is their any validity to this, and if so why isn't he listed as Robert II's son?

Maybe he was, Robert II was graf in Wormsgau, so was Robert III, and why was he called Robert III if there wasn't any Robert II before, and finally, a Robert I?

Kloster Lorsch) was founded in 764 by the Frankish Count Cancor and his mother Williswinda. Cancor was the son of Robert I.

The new rule on geni is that nothing can be too easy, if there isn't any document, a direct and irrefutable source, people will not be connected. Logic and common sense or any other analytical method isn't enough in these cases. That is likely why Robert III has no parents here on Geni, but on online pages, people add them.

Okay, thanks. That is interesting because Robert II and so many others can trace back to Adam and Eve, surely there is no documentation supporting this?

There isn't. Conjecture is fun but not on a collaborative tree - where you would simply be preferencing one user's pet theory over another's.

Primary Sources for his parents is all it takes to put them on to Geni.
