While I am here ..... is there even a remote possibility that Geni could some how allow its users to add to private trees ( Why are they on Geni if its meant to be a World tree ) because some of us with new relatives thru D N A matches Can NOT see who is who in a private tree... and seeing most of us who add to the world tree KNOW the people who are alive have been asked if they mind being made public and they dont mind..... there are SSSSOOOOO many people marked private who were born before 1900 and the possibility of them being alive is almost zero .... Also can it be made mandatory that IF some one sent you an email about your additions to the World tree that they MUST answer the emails .instead of leaving you hanging for months or longer until you can add to the tree....I know it sounds petty but surely those who want a private tree SHOULD go to Genis other company My Heritage and do their tree there .... And anothe thing WHY should geni members pay full price to belong to both Geni and My Heritage how about making it ONE price to join both ... A lot of people who do trees are pensioners ( Me ) and cant make money stretch that far and eat and pay bills..... .. Also trees that have been sitting for 6 to 12 months without additions should all be marked public..... because we dont know who had died and the tree is just left because the rellies dont know the password or the person them selves have dementia and the rellies once again dont want to do the tree or cant ... for instance a cousin of mine doesnt want to do the tree because he cant remember he even has a tree and because its a claimed tree I cant touch it even though the family would like me to take it over..... Genis format needs changing and ALL new members NEED to be told its a world tree not a private tree ......... here ends my rant.....

People have the right to keep trees private to grandparents. If everyone keeps trees at or one step up (at great grandparents) public, then we will still be able to have a world tree. People should cooperate with one another about merges where the information is correct.
