Kia ora Te Atawhai Mahiatua
I am confused, I can't see a son named Piripi Waaka?
That being said the children I do see have a birth range between 1835 & 1851 which suggests her birth c 1815? I don't know where the oddly specific estimate of 1605 to 1605 is coming from but I will manually over-ride it and see what affect that has on nearby profiles.
Her 4th great grandfather
Pito was born 1750 which would make her birth date much later than 1815
I think that somewhere in the tree the wrong people have been connected.
All the ancestors need to be critically looked at, sources added and dates added.

This might be a problem profile Te Rangituaiwa
on 14/3/2021 the name was changed from Kehurangi Ringatu Tamakiruhau to Te Rangituaiwa
After the change it was merged
I reported the issue to Geni and received this response.
Oddly-specific estimated birth dates are usually the result of someone nearby having a negative age (death date before birth date).
They suggested checking these specific profiles:

Jason Scott Wills if a well intentioned pakeha with absolutely no knowledge of Maori genealogy wanted to help on Geni is there somewhere you could point him?
Matching the pedigree above are these Geni profiles Rangitihi (born c1450??) thru Te Tauhu O Kawatapuarangi Kingi (born c1875)
There is only one other profile in this chain with a DOB which is Te Hokokai (c1809 with no explanation/evidence).
The DOB of Te Tauhu Kingi seems to be reasonably reliable given it's alignment with his siblings and children in the modern era with available sources.
Using 1875 as a pin there's an issue with the c1450 date for Rangitihi , typically I would use a generation spacing of 30 years when no other data is available:
This suggests either there are several generations missing or the DOB of Rangitihi is off by more than a century.
The About of Rangitihi states "Circa 1500, the senior Arawa Chief Rangitihi..." and assuming for a moment that this is a defensible statement then the implication is missing generations.
Yes understood.
So 30 years average is likely too high, using 25 years would suggest a DOB for Rangitihi of c 1550 but that doesn't gel with the statement in his About:
Circa 1500, the senior Arawa Chief Rangitihi, his three wives and family, (apart from his eldest son Rangiaohia) were living inland at their pa (fortress)Rangiwhakapua located beside the Ohau Channel between Lake Rotoiti and lake Rotorua, having moved there from the Pakotore pa on the banks of the Kaituna River where his children had grown up.
Given that it states by c1500 he is senior chief with 3 wives and his children are all grown, which clearly wouldn't be possible if he was born c1550
So where does the About statement come from? The way the About currently presents it implies it is quoting Paul Tapsell but I think this is a result of merging or bad formatting as the later paragraphs are copied from https://teara.govt.nz/en/whakapapa/1522/rangitihis-children?
After searching for a while I found this page which is the only other place this text seems to occur on the internet https://www.nbccomedyplayground.com/where-did-the-te-arawa-waka-com... however this is some kind of compilation website not any kind of original text so cannot be the original source. Interestingly search for other text on this page leads to this site https://teara.govt.nz/en/te-arawa which again references Paul/Paora Tapsell and seems to have been actual written by Paul.
It is possible the "1500" text is from an earlier version of that site per Story by Paora Tapsell, published 8 Feb 2005, updated 1 Mar 2017 which might indicate the 1500 was copied from the 2005 version but the author has thought better of it in 2017?
Either way I am going to remove the 1500 text from the profile as unsourced and mathematically impossible (assuming there is no missing generations). Paul/Paora Tapsell seems to be the authority on the subject so i'll follow his lead based on text on the teara.govt.nz site
If I am understanding this http://hinewaka.com/index.php?lang=english§ion=whakapapa1 then the mother of Te Rangituaiwa should be Te Wharekotore
With the top of the list being Rongokāko , there's only one break where Te Angiangi has been set to different parents than shown.
None of which helps with the OP.
I did find a Piripi Waaka (c1845 - 1921) https://www.myheritage.com/research/record-10972-423036/piripi-waak... in the New Zealand Death Index of 1921.
DOB 1845 would slot into the children of Te Rangituaiwa
Alternatively there's this guy https://www.myheritage.com/research/record-1-513951981-1-141343/pir...
Piripi Waaka
Birth Circa 1844 Okautete, New Zealand
Death Oct 19 1920
All a bit of a guessing game really at this point.
Can you look at the revisions for Te Rangituaiwa
On the 14 March 2021 the profile was changed from
Kehurangi Ringatu Tamakiruhau died 1813 to Te Rangituaiwa born 1815
Seems a strange change
Private User i saw your earlier post and agree it's strange but I'm not familiar enough to form an opinion.
But I note that in my last post Piripi Waaka (1844-1920) https://www.myheritage.com/research/record-1-513951981-1-141343/pir... has parents listed as Te- Waaka and Ringatu, my understanding is that Waaka is a family name and i think Ringatu is also so Piripi Waaka (1844-1920) son of N.N. Ringatu could be the person mentioned in the OP.
I also note that during the merge May 16 2021 both profiles are connected to the same husband, so one possibility is that two wives have been conflated?
After a lot of hit and miss I've noticed that Piripi Tarawa Waaka has "Piripi" in his middle name field. He is also married to Private which aligns with the online trees that i found yesterday that list Piripi Waaka as father of John Walker.
I don't know if walker is a direct translation of "waaka" or just alliteration but either way I think it solves the mystery of who the OP was talking about. So that's a win.
https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/memories/G8M2-QCH reverses the name order, making Piripi more obvious, and confirms parentage and birth & death dates. It also adds a photo but contains no evidence/sources/references at all :(
Thanks to everyone for trying to answer my query. Alot of thought and reconstruction has gone into the replies. Thank you all. It seems Te Rangituaiwa and Kehurangi were probably the same female. So she would appear to be the mother of Piripi Waaka. Walker is a Pakeha transliteration of Waaka.
From the whakapapa recorded here, the family do appear to descend from Tumapuhia, the man and therefore the hapu who bear his name. Though there were 3 Tumapuhia persons so it becomes difficult when you you try to ascribe dates if you trace from the wrong one. Thanks again everyone. Nga mihi kia koutou.
