Princess Matoaka "Pocahontas" Rebecca Powhatan I still don't understand how to add profiles that are already made to my tree. There are others, thanks for your help.

Jospeh,
I am having the same issue with information people sent me lines saying you are related to Pocahantas.
The lines are off his line or that line.
Add information that boosts your line.
Don't worry about others information.
I only add information if it helps boosts their line.
good Luck
Jonnie

How do I add someone to my tree? - Geni Help Center

She is my 10th great uncle's mother.

Please “do not” create new profiles for historic figures like Pocahontas

Merging creates conflicts and introduces errors into the Geni World Family tree, and is totally unnecessary for adding her to “your” tree.

All that’s needed is to build your own line until it overlaps with an existing profile. For a popular & well studied line like the Bollings, that should be in the 1800s / 1900s or even more recent.

I will try and find that connection for you, Joseph Raymond Burke

https://www.geni.com/discussions/268179?msg=1645945 - there’s an issue with your tree here.

You have Col. Charles Fleming as father of Ann Dudley

But Col. Charles Fleming had no children.

What are your sources? Please add citations to profiles.

Thank you for your help, I will fix that issue.

I've been reading this chart too. http://pocahontas.morenus.org/poca_desc.html

Ann Dudley is only controversially a Fleming by birth, and the name of her father is seen as “a Fleming, “ Col. Charles Fleming (by Joseph Raymond Burke), “ Col. Charles Fleming (by Private User).

Her mother was attached as Susanna Fleming by Lisa Flint.

We probably need to disconnect her from parents until we get better references.

https://www.werelate.org/wiki/Person:Ann_Unknown_(624)

It has been noted here in the past that her parents were Charles Fleming and Susanna Tarleton. This is incorrect. Charles would have been born between 1692-1700. His parents, Alexander Fleming and Sarah Kennedy married in 1690. He was mentioned in his father's will in 1720 and given land. Ann Fleming Penn was born about 1706 making it impossible to be a daughter of Charles Fleming and Susanna Tarleton. Charles and Susanna did have a daughter named Anna, but she married Josias Payne.

For interest, here is how Charles Fleming relates to Pocahontas:

Pocahontas is Col. Charles Fleming's son's wife's second great grandmother.
https://www.geni.com/path/Col-Charles-Fleming+is+related+to+Pocahontas?from=6000000003403184041&path_type=inlaw&to=6000000005385138952

On Familysearch, Susanna Tarleton is listed as such.

If I am related to Pocahontas, I wonder which grandchild I am related to though.

Joseph Raymond Burke Hi I don't remember how to merge profiles on here. There should be some competent people on here who can help you. Best Wishes!
