@annshelley There is some doubt whether Alice Tassell who married Robert Shelley at Exning Suffolk in 1602 was the daughter of Bartholomew Tassell. There is good circumstantial evidence that she probably was (which I am happy to share). But the important question is whether that Robert Shelley was the Robert Shelley aboard the Lyon in 1631
There, they is described as Robert and Ann Shelley of Nazing, Essex --- which is fifty miles (prob. 2-3 days travel) from Exning, Suffolk. Really, we need more evidence to connect Robert and Ann of Nazing with Robert and Alice of Exning.
