You're too quick for me.

I love problems that fix themselves before you get a chance to read them. LOL

Well, I have been around a while, plus David Kaleita has taught me a lot!
Dave, YOU ROCK! ;-)

Heyo! Anyone interested in taking a look at this bad boy?

http://www.geni.com/family-tree/index/6000000000387362820 (FIXED BAD LINK)

Two fathers, two mothers (one of whom he's married as well)
Four spouses...

A minute ago he was married to a woman who was born 100 years before him, but that was easily fixed (breaking the relationship and finding her correct place on the tree). The rest of this looks trickier.

Using the about me, I found the correct wife. But the parents I do not have a ref for.

A good about me will have the name of the parents, wife and children in case something like this happens.

I don't know if this is the right forum, but I have a question/problem

I share the profile of a distant ancestor with several other people.
Jean-Baptiste Séguin dit Ladéroute
At the moment he has 3 sets of parent. They are all the same person, but not merged. One of the sets of parents is a MP with a long description and lots of additional ancestors. Unfortunately, the set of parents that appear in my tree are the last ones added and they are sketchy with few ancestors.

Is there some way I can control the parents that appear in my tree?

Can this be corrected?
John Mordaunt, 1st Viscount Mordaunt
John Mordaunt, 1st Viscount Mordaunt was born in 1626 and died in 1675. However
+ In his overview write-up says that he died in 1504
+ One of his wives (Edith Latimer) died in 1504
+ One of his fathers (John Mordaunt) died in 1504 (the improper merge)
+ Several of his children were born before 1626

hmm? My problem with Jean-Baptiste Séguin dit Ladéroute has been corrected. The profiles for one of the sets of parents was not merged with the other 2. When they were all merged into the same person, then my tree defaults to the profiles I want to see.

Does this make sense? Was that the proper way to correct my issue?

i merged the 3 sets of parents for you

Daniel; I'm working on the Mordaunt's

looks like some bad merges caused this problem

I need help delete this profile; toDelete Delete
I mistakenly added a spouse where she wasn't supposed to be, but I can't delete her. I changed her name to delete delete so I would be sure the correct profile is deleted. Thanks.

That profile is in your private Tree we cannot see it

@Darcia: If you go into the Tree View, each of your managed profiles should have an "X" in the upper-right corner of the box. Just click that to delete it.

@Angus Wood-Salomon: I have made the profile public.
@Geoffrey Trowbridge: There is no X in the corner.

Eldon had deleted Delete Delete. He got there just before I did!

Darcia looks like it is deleted..great

Thanks everyone!

Anna, I think they're all done.

As usual the curator(s) leave the data conflicts to the requester...

Should we or shouldn't we??

That is the rule, - we can and should only help with the merges if we agree that they look correct because we have access to perform the merge, but we usually don't have the knowledge of the specific area to decide what to choose when the merge results in a data conflict.

We leave that to the requester and managers since the curator powers is not needed to complete them, -knowledge does.

To find the data conflicts: Click the Actions▼ menu on the profile, select "Nearby Merge Issues" and then on the "Data Conflicts" tab.

Sounds like a good plan.

Great! I think I've taken care of all the data conflicts now. May I also ask you for help with some more merges? It's http://www.geni.com/merge/compare/6000000013040888813, this man's son and his grandson. Thank you!

Could someone please finish this merge?

Thanks!

Here is another one in the same tree:

Thanks!

Lizzie, have you tried contacting the manager about it?

he was last online in June 2011

:-)

@ofir thanks, guess i'll just have to wait it out.

I am unable to add the profile of [Thomas Alva Edison, Inventor] (of all profiles) to the project of Inventors. Can anyone help

Yigal

P.S. several profiles I manage "lost" their About Me content - is it an "after shock" (of the last Geni shutdown) phenomenon or just an isolated case? (of all profiles) to the project of Inventors.
