There are a few things that are wrong with my fathers info. For one he had a daughter named Ellen Howton. He died in pearsal Tx. His son Raymond Alvin Howton the III Died in April 2003 . Great to meet you, cousin!

Our common ancestor is Jonathan Howton who came from England to Hopkins County, Kentucky around 1795. One of his 13 children was Curtis Howton of Alabama; your descent is from that line. Another was James Henry “Old Uncle Henry” Howton, Sr. of Kentucky, and that is my ancestry; his son James Henry Jr emigrated "out West" and his children settled in Colorado, Idaho and Oregon (my direct ancestry - guess you could call me an "Oregon" Howton!).

I made the correction you noted, many thanks. Obituaries can get it wrong.
