Rabbi Yehuda Aryeh Leib Caro, ABD Glogau

NOTE: He is born circa 1510, while his father is born ca 1610 and his grandfather born ca 1575 ?!?! (04 JAN 2025)

There is confusion between two Yehuda Aryeh Leyb Caros: see: Jacobi Papers, Vol. 3, p. 109, 16.1, p. 110, 14.1, and p. 110, 12.1: then the spouses have to be rectified (01 SEP 2024)

Chief Rabbi of Glogau for most of his life and in his final years served as Ashkenazi Av Beit Din of Amsterdam. He wrote a Haskama for the Pnei Moshe, by R’ Moshe Katz ABD Mezhibuzh and Przemysl.

The Haskama for the Pnei Moshe is dated Sunday the second day of Shevat 5476 which is January 26, 1716. So he definitely was alive in 1716.

כתוב שהוא מצאצאי רבי יהודה לייב אבד"ק גלוגא רבתי, ודיין ומו"ץ בפראג. אביו הוא קלונימוס הזקן (נולד לפני 1096 נפטר בשנת 1126)
