There is no documentation that confirms Elizabeth's maiden name as Clay or Corker, there are no references found thus far that gives her maiden name at all. I personally don't consider unsourced Ancestry pedigrees as any kind of evidence, especially when they are behind a paywall. DKM

2) An unsourced Find A Grave Memorial names Edward Brantley's wife as "Elizabeth Clay," b: 1680 - d: 1738 in Virginia. See Find A Grave: Memorial #141379927 - Elizabeth Clay Brantley.
3) An Ancestry.com Family Tree names Edward Brantley's wife as "Elizabeth Martha Clay," b: 1680 - d: 1738. It says her parents were: William Clay, 1640–1676; and his wife, Judith (Corker) Clay, 1654–1688. Both parents were born in Isle of Wight, Virginia. They married in 1671 in James City, Virginia. Judith was the daughter of Captain William Corker, b: 31 Jan. 1621 • James City, Virginia; d: 26 Feb 1677 • Jamestown, Virginia.
