Date and place of death have also been (erroneously?) reported to be May 13, 1736 at Deep Creek, Amelia County, Virginia (unattested).
In June 1687 Abraham appeared in court to have a guardian other than his mother appointed. "It appearing that he is a very lazy and peremptory boy, he is ordered still to abide and remain with his said mother and stepfather."
Many boys in the Burton Family we wild and unruly, in today's terms called "juvenile delinquents." Abraham and some of his sons fit this description.
Abraham inherited 100 acres from his father's will in 1685.
Abraham petitioned the court to choose another guardian for him other than his mother. The court ordered him to remain with his mother and stepfather.
