Abraham was baptized June 8, 1670.
Abraham Hatfield, I (6/8/1670 Trenton, Mercer Co., NJ - 7/17/1706 Trenton, Mercer Co., NJ) was a cordwainer and tanner, running a tannery with his brother Cornelius. He was also a recorded farmer and boatman.
It is believed by some that Abraham and his wife Phoebe MAY be the ancestors of the "feuding Hatfields," of Hatfield and McCoy fame.
His will was made July 8, 1706, and proved July 23, 1706 at Trenton, NJ; his wife Phebe Hatfield and brother Cornelius were executors; wit: Samuel Melyn, Samuel Clark, Thomas Price.
Abraham "Abe" Hatfield was riginally buried in the Old Burying Grounds, Newark, Essex Co., NJ. That cemetery is defunct, and he was reinterred at Fairmount Cemetery (Newark, NJ) in mass crypt in the 1890's.
Parents: Mathias M Hatfield (1635 - 1687) and Mariken Melijn/Melyn (1637 - 1694).

Was baptized on June 8, 1670.
He was a trained Cordwainer and ran a tannery with his brother Cornelius. He was also a recorded farmer and boatman.
When Abraham Hetfield was born on June 8, 1670, in New Amsterdam, New Netherlands (or possibly New Haven, Colony of Connecticut), his father, Matthias, was 40 and his mother, Maria, was 33. He married Phoebe Ogden in 1694 in Elizabethtown, Essex, Province of East Jersey. They had six children during their marriage. He died on July 17, 1706, at the age of 36, and it was believed he was buried in the Old Burying Grounds in Newark, Essex, Province of East Jersey, although no record or headstone is known to survive today. The Old Burial Ground was excavated, and the early founders of New Jersey were removed to a mass crypt in Fairmount Cemetery on the border of present day East Orange and Newark, Essex, New Jersey.
