About Alanson Duckworth

Biography

Alanson Duckworth was born in 1803 in Columbia, Warren, Georgia, United States. His parents were Randal Lanson Duckworth and Martha "Patsy" Duckworth (McCormick). He was a Farmer .

Alanson married Mary Ann Elizabeth Duckworth on June 7, 1837 in Monroe,Ouachita Parrish, Louisiana, United States of America. Together they had the following children: Susanah Duckworth; Martha Amarintha Duckworth; Mary M. Duckworth; Joseana Duckworth; William Jefferson Duckworth, Sr; Randle Lawson Duckworth; Delphia Butler Douglas; Ellenor Octavia Ray; Nancy Aurora Cecelia Ione Calhoun; Robert B. Duckworth.

He died before 1870 in Sabine County, Louisiana, United States and was buried before 1870 there.

Alanson was a slave owner. According to the 1850 U.S. Federal Census - Slave Schedules he owned 1 male aged 22.

Find a Grave has him depicted as an A. Duckworth who fought in the Civil War but the man they are claiming to be him was 35 years old in 1863 and from Mississippi. Whereas this A. Duckworth was 34 in 1837 when he married Mary and he was from Georgia. Clearly not the same person. Only A. Duckworth or anything close I could find on Fold3 so as I've done so many times before I sent them a message on 03/30/2020 so they can correct it.

Not saying that Alanson did not serve in the Civil War just saying that I could not find anything to say he did.
