Alexander Baillie of Dunain
Alexander Baillie of Dunain was the son of Sir William Baillie, 4th of Lamington and his wife Catherine Hamilton . He married Catherine Grant, daughter of Sir William Grant of Treucky.
With his two younger brothers, he killed their clergyman tutor and fled abroad.
He fought in the Battle of Brechin in 1452, under his maternal cousin 1st Earl of Huntly.
In 1453 Constable of Inverness Castle.
He was rewarded by the grant of Dunain, Dochfour, Leys and Torbreck.
