The ranks of Allen Co's blue clad army had two more vacant places Tuesday with the death of Alexander C. Counts, 83, of Spencerville, and Peter Barnhart, 88 . . .
Counts died at his home in Spencerville at 4:20am Tuesday. He served in Co.A 81st regiment O.V.I., and was a member of the Mart Armstrong post G.A.R.
He is survived by his widow, two daughters, Mrs. Albert Done (sic Doan) of Spencerville and Mrs. J.B. Bible, of Lima; and a brother, H.A. Counts of Spencerville. Burial will be in Spencerville cemetery.
[Note - the surviving widow referred to was his second wife, Hulda Miller. His first wife, Matilda Groves died in 1924.]
