Alexander Thomas Bisset BLAIR was born in 1818 in England. His parents were Alexander BLAIR and Tryphena SLEEMAN.

Alexander was a ship's carpenter on whaling ship "Samuel Cunard" and he arrived in Australia in 1837.

Alexander married Mary Ann HEDINGTON on February 22, 1841 in Launceston, Tasmania, Australia. Together they had the following children:
