Amy Ann was born in 1641 Bristol Parish, Henrico County, Virginia.
Thomas was a lawyer in Virginia when he and Amy Beville met. His age is based on 1683 Henrico County Records that stated"Thomas Bott, aged about 30 years" when he witnessed Amy signing a deed of gift to her children with Essex Beville, and giving a deposition to the court about the deed in 1686. According to the same records, in August 1687, When Thomas Bott sued Major Thomas Chamberlayne for "Calling him a rouge" & in October of 1687, he and Amy evaded a suit brought against the estate of Henry Kent, (Amy's 2nd husband), by William & Thomas Farrar for a cow purchased by Henry but not paid for because of his death. The case was dismissed.
