Hope all is well with you. I have a question concerning the above named Cynwrig. In Pedigree of “Edwin Bendew II” you show him under person # 44, Robert ap Iorwerth ap Rhiryd, as married to Angharad ferch Robert, and listing his birth as c: 1330. You go on to say that his line descends from Hedd ap Alunog.

In Pedigree of Cynddelw Gam of Ystrad Alun, under person # 273, Dafydd Lloyd ap Gruffudd ap Cadwgan Decca, in discussing that man’s wife, Gwenllian ferch Llewelyn Fychan, you carry her line back to a c: 1300 Cynwrig ap Bleddyn Lloyd ap Bleddyn Fychan, and continuing to Hedd ap Alunog.

Are these two separate men, ostensibly from a cousin line? If so, what is the line between the c: 1330 Cynwrig ap Bleddyn Lloyd and Hedd ap Alunog?

          While there were indeed two cousin lines in this family who shared a long string of male names, the Cynwrig ap Bleddyn Llwyd in both the pedigrees you mention is the same man, born c. 1300.  I had long ago moved the Angharad ferch Robert ap Iorwerth who married Cynwrig ap Bleddyn Llwyd from #44 in the Ednowain Bendew II pedigree, to #28, and dated her to c. 1310 rather than c. 1340.  This was a case where both the wife and the husband came from families with same-named cousin branches.  I had not, however, updated the Ednowain pedigree on our website.  

The Hedd family began their "cuteness" with Gwion, one of 4 sons of Rhiwallon ap Radfarch:

           Some sources add "Chwith" to his son Llewelyn.

PS It would not surprise me if the "Gwion" in this chart was actually a man called Radfarch y wyrion, named the same as his grandfather. And Radfarch might have been a nickname since many sources call him Rhahawd Bach. (Radfarch = cheap or free horse)
