In either late summer or early fall of 1717, Peter Lehman/Leman arrived in Philadelphia on a ship as part of a three-ship convoy-widowed-and with "five motherless children" (Peter, Christian, Jacob, Barbara, and Mary) in tow (The other children, born to him through his second wife, Ann were Henry, John, Abraham, Isaac, Daniel and Elizabeth). His first wife, Anna, seems to have died shortly after the birth of her youngest child in about 1707.
