Known both as "Elizabeth" and, more commonly, as "Anne". May have been an "Elizabeth Ann" - double-barrelled first names with a short second element (Mary Anne, Sarah Jane, etc.) were just beginning to come "in" about this time.

John Welsh was born in England. By 1670, he married widowed Anne Grosse. Two children were born to them, Sylvester and John Welsh, Jr. She died before 1675, when Major Welsh married Mary Wyatt.

John Welch was born England. He married Anne (Grosse) circa 1665 England. They had perhaps 7 children: Sylvester, John (qv), Benjamin, Mary, Elizabeth, Sarah, Damaris.. Major John Welsh survived Anne, deceased circa 1675. Major John Welsh then married Mary Wyatt. Major John Welsh died before 3 March 1683 Anne Arundel Co, MD; will proved.
