Daughter of Caroline Hyler and James Turpin. She married Charles Durham on 21 December 1918 in Guilford County, North Carolina.
Her obituary in the Greensboro Daily News, July 18, 1940, relates that she was born and raised in Pittsylvania county, Virginia, but had made her home in Greensboro the last 21 years. Surviving were listed as her husband, Charles G. Durham; one brother, J.J. Turpin, Danville, Va., and two sisters, Miss Lula Turpin, Greensboro, and Mrs. Robert Hyler, Danville, Va.
