OBITUARY - NEW YORK TIMES, NOVEMBER 4, 1936:

"FUNERAL FOR PRINCESS"

~Service Tomorrow for Widow of Aymon De Faucigny Lucinge~

The funeral for Princess Aymon de Faucigny Lucinge, who died on Monday at her residence in Providence, RI, as reported in yesterdays NEW YORK TIMES, will be held at 11AM tomorrow in St. Stephen's Church Providence. Burial will take place Friday afternoon in Blossom Hill Cemetery, Concord, NH.

As Carolyn S. Foster of Waltham, Mass, the Princess, in 1894, was married to Joseph Stickeny, founder of Bretton Woods, NH, who died in 1903. Ten years later, in London she was married to Aymon de Faucigny Lucinge of Paris, who died in 1922. For her philanthropies in France during the World War she was decorated with the Crox de Guerre with palms. She was a member of the Colony Club of New York. A sister, Mrs. Frank H. B. Reynolds and a nephew, R. Foster Reynolds, both of providence, survive.

(Burial in NY Times obit is for original resting place. Carolyn and Joseph were reinterred in 1938 after the Stickney mausoleum was built per Carolyn's will. According to family members Carolyn and Joseph are buried in Old North Cemetery in Concord, NH, which is next to Blossom Hill Cemetery. Also Joseph was not the founder of Bretton Woods, however, he did own hotels there and most notably built the impressive Mount Washington Hotel in 1902.)

Her ghost is said to haunt the famous Mount Washington Hotel in New Hampshire. She is said to inhabit "The Princess Room" where she and her husband slept. She also observes people in the lobby of the hotel and has been seen going down the grand staircase.
