About Colin Campbell, 3rd of Glenorchy
Biography
Colin Campbell, 3rd of Glenorchy was born in Breadalbane, Perthshire, Scotland. His parents were Duncan Campbell, 2nd Lord of Glenorchy and Margaret Douglas.
Colin married Mariote 'Marjory' Stewart in 1508 in Balvenie Castle, Dufftown, Banffshire, Scotland.
Together they had the following children:
- Sir Duncan Campbell, 4th of Glenorchy;
- Sir John Campbell, 5th of Glenorchy;
- Colin Campbell, 6th of Glenorchy and Arkinglass;
- Mariota Campbell;
- Helen Campbell.
He died on August 12, 1523 in Glenurchy, Argyllshire, Scotland.
January 6, 1481 – Sir Colin CAMPBELL was born in Breadalbane, Perth, Scotland. He would become the 3rd Laird of Glenorchy. His father was, of course, the 2nd Laird. His mother was Margaret Douglas of Angus, sister of Archibald “Bell the Cat” Douglas.
He would marry Marjory Stewart, daughter of the 1st Earl of Atholl making her a granddaughter of Joan Beaufort and the Black Knight of Lorn. “It is recorded of Sir Colin by the family chronicler that 'he kepit bayth conques and takis left to him. And was ane great justiciare all his tyme.' Assured that the Campbells of Glenorchy had obtained a firm foothold in Breadalbane ... Sir Colin erected a burial chapel at Finlarig 'to be ane burial for himself and his posteritie.' The present mausoleum of the Breadalbane family is on the site of Sir Colin's chapel. He died on the 26th [of] July 1524 [sic], and was buried at Finlarig, in his own chapel of the Blessed Virgin. He left three sons, Duncan, John, and Colin, each of whom was destined to be Laird of Glenorchy."

Birth date seen as 01/06/1480 but not sure it's valid, because:

4) Mariote Stewart, married Colin Campbell, 3rd Laird of Glenorchy
She is called sixth daughter of 2nd wife by DP, 4th daughter of 2nd wife by BEP, and listed as the 10th daughter in SP Atholl (1904).
Most sources call this daughter 'Margery', but from her obit in the Chronicle of Fortingall, we know her name was 'Mariote', and that she died on 26 July 1529 [not 1524, as SP has it]:
"Obitus Mariote Stuart domine de Glenwrquhay xxvj die Julii apud Insulam de Lochtay, et sepulta in Finlark anno Domini mvxxviiij" (https://archive.org/stream/blackbookoftaymo00inneuoft#page/120/mode...)
Per Gordon MacGregor in the Campbell of Glenorchy pedigree in his Red Book of Scotland series, updated just this year, Mariote (whom he calls 'Margery') Stewart and the 3rd Laird of Glenorchy had an elder daughter,
"Mariota Campbell, m. by 5 October, 1498, William Stewart, 2nd of Balindoran, (he was widow of Janet, daughter of Archibald Buchannan of Lettir, by whom he had issue) and had issue":
If Mariote Stewart had a daughter who in turn was married by 1498, Mariote would have to have been a daughter of the 1st Earl of Atholl by his 1st wife Margaret Douglas.

The trunk is decorated with portraits of Glenorchy lairds, with Colin Campbell (who commissioned the work) second from the top and his potential heir above. The surrounding roundels further document the genealogy. The ornate and heraldic quality reflects Jamesone’s training as a decorative painter and the rich colour scheme is typical of his oeuvre.
