About Cyrinda Foxe

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyrinda_Foxe

Cyrinda Foxe (born Kathleen Victoria Hetzekian) was a model, actress and groupie, best known for her marriage to Steven Tyler of the rock band Aerosmith.

Cyrinda was a 1970s icon and Marilyn Monroe look-alike who worked for the MainMan organisation (which managed David Bowie's career) and appeared as the dancer in Bowie's "Jean Genie" promotional video in 1972.

Cyrinda Foxe was born Kathleen Hetzekian in southern California to an Armenian family, and she says that she grew up as an army brat in an abusive household. She left home before she graduated from high school and lived for a while in Texas before settling in New York City. Kathleen changed her name to Cyrinda Foxe and became part of the hip downtown nightlife crowd in the 1970s at famed nightclub Max's Kansas City. She also became an actress; her best known role was in Andy Warhol's movie Bad (1977). While she was making a name for herself as an actress, Cyrinda had an affair with David Bowie, became pregnant with his child, and had an abortion.

Cyrinda grew up idolizing the Rolling Stones and she eventually became involved with the New York Dolls, a glam-rock band often compared to the Stones. In 1977, after years of dating, Cyrinda married David Johansen, frontman for the New York Dolls. At the time, the New York Dolls had the same management as Aerosmith, and while Cyrinda was involved with Johansen, she met Aerosmith's lead singer Steven Tyler.

After less than a year of marriage to David, Cyrinda left David for Steven. Cyrinda and Steven married and had a daughter, Mia Tyler, but the marriage was troubled by drug addiction, extramarital affairs, and physical and emotional abuse. Cyrinda and Steven divorced shortly before Aerosmith made a comeback in the late 1980s. She raised her daughter in Sunapee, New Hampshire and New York City.

In 1997, Cyrinda's tell-all memoir, "Dream On: Livin' on the Edge with Steven Tyler and Aerosmith ", co-written with Danny Fields was published to mostly negative reactions from Aerosmith fans. Not long after the book was released, Cyrinda announced that the paperback edition of "Dream On" would include nude photos of Steven. But in 1999, Steven won a lawsuit against Cyrinda to prevent her from publishing the nude pictures. In 2000, Cyrinda launched a web site in which she was selling nude pictures of Steven, but by the end of the year, the site was shut down for undisclosed reasons.

In 2001, Cyrinda had a mild stroke. She managed to get herself onto Medicare and food stamps as she had no apartment or permanent place to live. Myra Freidman organized a benefit at CBGBs to raise money for Cyrinda. Embarrassed by Cyrinda's semi-homeless state, Steven Tyler met with Cyrinda and their daughter Mia at Balthazar and donated a signed Aerosmith guitar to the benefit which sold for $5000. David Bowie donated an acoustic guitar which also sold for $5000. Tyler agreed to pay for a room for Cyrinda at the Gramercy Park Hotel where on August 28, 2002, she married Keith Waa. She died from an inoperable brain tumor on September 7, 2002.
